IMG_2914.JPGThe Windsor Chairmaking discussion begins123 viewsEd Minch moves across the backsaw rack .. I counted 99 saws, including a dozen or so that were awaiting refurbishment. And here we thought Tom Price had a saw problem!! Ed's magnetic anomaly may well win in a magneto-gravitational pull contest between those two.Charlie Driggs

MF_14_1_Body_Before.JPGPlane Body as Found63 viewsI bought this Millers Falls #14 plane while I was in South Africa, and disassembled it before packing to come home. I didn't see any reason to reassemble it just to take a picture before I started refurbishing it, so this is as close to an overall "before" picture as I have. Other components are pictured separately, as well.Chuck Myers

No_4_Refurb_Upload.jpg
No_4_Refurb_Upload.jpg190 viewsThis is a Stanley No 4, Type 9, plane that I just finished refurbishing. It was in pretty sad shape when I got it--with heavy rust on all the bare metal parts and sole cupped across its width. Japaning was in good shape, though. Wood, too, though there were some pretty large and heavy paint splatters. Note the deep rust pit on the side. I was more aggressive than usual in cleaning up this plane because of the heavy rust.Chuck Myers

100_0723drawknife_handles.JPGdrawknife refurbish77 viewsAlmost finished handles for a sad old drawknife. Makers mark illegible. Pulled from an iron pile at relatives auction. Am certain it is one of my great grandfathers tools, he passed on in 1910. john krau
