IMG_7278.JPGmy shop's traveling pegboard13 viewsThis storage center has been in my shops in three houses, and supports easily several times its own weight. It is suspended from the floor joists above on two aircraft-style multi strand cables, and should one of those slip, the whole board would only drop less than 1/4" inc onto the benchtop below.
Items on this board include braces, drawshave, perfect handle and cabinetmakers screwdrivers, marking gauges, hand drills, gimlets, try squares, steel rules, metal shears, drill & screw sizing gaugesCharlie Driggs

Possible_depth_adjustment.jpgPossible depth adjuster?19 viewsThis closeup shows what appears to be an unthreaded thumb screw (peg?) in a position that would allow it to be used as a depth adjustment for the possible thickness gauge formed by the spring arm. At present the end of the thumb peg is level with the underside of the arm in which it is affixed. It does not protrude and thus is presently not providing support for the spring arm assembly. The thumb peg is too rusted to move.Sgt42RHR

20131029_3488ss.jpgSpiers Panel Plane w parallel 5/32" Sorby iron415 viewsEven though I can slip 0.046 inches of feeler gauge into the mouth, it can consistently produce cherry shavings between 0.001 and 0.002 inches - provided the cap iron aka chip breaker is set back the absolute minimum my eyes can detect - with magnification. Would a tighter mouth make it any more useful?Schwartz

Ward___Co__New_York_slitting_gauge-Galootaclaus_2011.jpgWard & Co. New York slitting gauge72 viewsThank you Elf Josh, this is a lovely tool, the fence is true and tight, the blade is polished and razor sharp. I really like the RB initials stamped on each side of the stem. This gauge will fit in nicely with my plans for veneering chests.
