Fore Plane
A plane about 18 inches long used to surface or dress rough lumber. Stanley #6.
Forstner bit
A specialty wood cutting bit that rides on semi-circular spurs. Makes a clean, flat bottom hole, and can be used at extreme angles with a drill press.
Fox Wedge
A method of securing a blind tenon into a mortise by placing wedges in saw kerfs made in the tenons. When driven home the wedges secure the tenon by spreading it out into the mortise

Frame Resaw
A frame saw with the tensioned blade in the center of the frame used for hand resawing stock.
Frame Saw
A class of saws where the blade is held in tension by a wood or metal frame. Examples include the Bow Saw, Coping Saw, Frame Resaw, Fret Saw and Hack Saw.
Frameless Cabinet
A frameless cabinet is one that does not have a face frame. A frameless cabinet is made like a simple four sided box. This is sometimes called European style.
Framing Chisel
Large chisel with long, heavy blades: strong enough to be hit with a heavy mallet
Free Swinging
This means the hinge can move freely along its path from open to closed. There is no sort of catch feature to keep the door shut
Free Water (Free Moisture)
Moisture found in the cell cavities of wood. Loss of free water does not result in appreciable shrinkage.
French Polishing
The process of applying shellac with a pad in a series of steps.
Froe
A riving (splitting) tool with a straight blade (usually 8-12 inches long) and a perpendicular handle. Sometimes called a "lath axe" or "splitting knife."
Froe club
Narrow, hardwood club used to strike the back of a froe blade.
Frog
The angled section within a plane or spokeshave body that supports the blade.

Full Overlay
In frameless cabinet construction the box is typically made from ¾" thick stock. A full overlay will cover the complete front edge or just slightly less than this stock. A full overlay hinge is typically used on the outsides or ends of a cabinet.
Fully Concealed
Will not show at all from the outside of the cabinet.
