Goose_neck_knife_hinges_on_folding_table.jpgGoose Neck Knife Hinges84 viewsI made these hinges using 1/8" thick brass. The goose neck design is necessary in order to allow the table top to fold around and lay flat against the back of the legs for storage or transportation.Sgt42RHR

100_5171.jpg100 viewsMoxon Style Vice is finished. Here are the screws I ordered of of ebay - Hard maple, 1-1/4", with an unthreaded portion for about 1" at the handle. The nuts are 4"X4" and 1-1/16" thick - seems like plenty of thickness. The maker threw in the third nut at no charge - I have 2 screws with a choice of 18" or 10" spacingRuby

IMG_0993.JPGThe face vise95 viewsSweet old Columbian I scored at the swap meet for $20, with the original handle. It cleaned up nicely. The chop is cut from a piece of live oak I took from my parents' firewood pile. It was from a huge branch split off one of their trees when Hurricane Hugo blew through North Carolina back in '89. It's perfectly "quarter split" and I've been saving it for something nice. You can see the border of the heartwood and sapwood.TRexF16

IMG_0899.JPGStanley #60 Chisel Types237 viewsThese represent at least five different "types" of #60. I don't know the order of introduction, but have lined them up left to right based on my guess at oldest to newest style. I have at least one of the middle type with an earlier owner's name and "1947" etched on the back.TRexF16
