IMG_2349s.jpgtrip haul - July 200970 views$17 for the new stuff (including 8% state & local tax I wouldn't have paid at home), but the real gems were the three in front -- 1837 I&LJ White turning skew with a shattered handle, and a straight & hefty timber chisel (does a 2" wide / several pound of steel sans handle example qualify as a timber slick?) with a broken off handle and the obligatory spot of green paint, plus another 80M scraper for upgrading. Tang on the 1837 I&LJ White skew chisel is over 4" inches long, so it should be well supported. The schlagring on that skew came off the broken handle of the timber chisel, and had taken a beating before being cleaned up on the grinder.Charlie Driggs

Then yesterday was doing a little cleanup in the wood stash and found this stick of purpleheart that had been so miserable to work with over a decade ago. Ah-ha, I had a use for it. Still miserable to work it, but now I don't have any of it left. The markers are made from scrap pieces of holly. Much easier to see this pair than the sticks next to them when the lighting is a bit shaded or the eyes are tired.Charlie Driggs
