It didn't come out because the front-to-back fit was very nice. There was a bit of side-to-side wobble, though, because I'd left the mortise a tad too wide when fitting the two halves of the body together. I tapped a couple of very thin wedges into the gap and used thin CA glue to make the fix permanent (I hope). Still needs a little cleanup in this picture.
