Tapered Octagon Marking Jig
|
I read about a jig like this in a couple of places. A bit of scrap cherry and some hardwood dowels were used. An initial test revealed the lines marked with the jig were not right, so I added some leather to narrow the space between the dowels, and some masking tape on one side to even up the two lines. The two screws mark the lines and they are just barely poking through the base of the jig; I tried to make them as fine as I could and still be visible on the black walnut.
