Cutting the lock box mortise

I used a Stanley No. 71 router plane to excavate the lock box mortise. The round trunk body is 9/16th inch thick, the lock box mortise is 7/16th inch deep. The lock plate is curved to fit the 6 inch radius of the round trunk body.
