BR_5_5.JPGEstate sale picture356 viewsThe plane I got up so early to go look at is on the table in the lower right 0f the photo. Zooming in, it looked like a "low" rosewood knob, and compared to the splitting wdege next to it, looked a bit wide like it might be a 4 1/2.TRexF16

IMG_0118.JPGUnknown Sharpening Stone465 views7x2x1 inch stone picked up at an estate sale. Thought it was a Crystolon (it was pretty dirty) but when I cleaned it up I saw by the striations in the stone it is natural. Seems fairly soft but fine, much like a Queer Creek. But here it is completely cleaned up and sitting on a new Queer Creek and it is clear it in not that. Also interesting how it was cut from the quarry perpendicular to the "layers". Kinda quarter sawn...
Does anybody know what kind of stone this is?

IMG_0899.JPGStanley #60 Chisel Types237 viewsThese represent at least five different "types" of #60. I don't know the order of introduction, but have lined them up left to right based on my guess at oldest to newest style. I have at least one of the middle type with an earlier owner's name and "1947" etched on the back.TRexF16
